Rara Lake, often called the "Queen of Lakes," is the largest and deepest freshwater lake in Nepal. It is located in Rara National Park in the Mugu district of northwestern Nepal. The lake sits at an altitude of 2,990 meters (9,810 feet) and is surrounded by pine, spruce, and juniper forests, creating a breathtaking landscape.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

After arriving at Kathmandu airport, our representative will pick you and transferred to your specified hotel. After checking in to the hotel, you can take a rest or visit nearby places depending on your time and interest. In the evening there will be a discussion and introduction with your guide.

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu
After Breakfast, Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu

The Swayambhunath is also known as Monkey Temple, due to the presence of sacred Monkey. According to the legend, Kathmandu Valley was once a lake and there was a lotus. Tibetan God Manjushree cut the Chobar gorge and made the place habitable. The water drained out of the lake and the lotus turned into an eternal self-existent flame Sayambhu (Self- created) over which a swayambhunath stupa was later built. Its area possesses the stupa with many temples, shrines, Tibetan monasteries and statues of different gods. It is the fine mixture of Buddhist and Hindu shrine. 

Kathmandu Durbar Square  is the former Royal Palace of the Kathmandu Kingdom. It was used as the center of administration activities. It is surrounded with different temples with spectacular architecture. The whole complex is known as Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is surrounded by different Temples i.e. Kasthamandap (From which Kathmandu got its name), Maru Ganesh, Mahadev Temple, Shiva Parvati Temple, Bhagwati Temple, Old palace, Saraswoti temple, Krishna Temple, Big drums, Kal Bhairav, Jagannath Temple, and Taleju Temple etc. Most of them built in Nepali (Pagoda style) with erotic wooden carvings in the corner.


Boudhanath Stupa is the largest Buddhist Shrine of South Asia. It is the ancient trade route between Tibet and Nepal. It is also called Mini Tibet as many Tibetans refugees nestled here. This Stupa is also known as wish granted Stupa. Every morning and evening there is large mass of devotees around the stupa and the environment inside inside the Boudhanath is full of spirituality.


Pashupatinath is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of Bagmati River. It is also known for most Hindu cremation sites. It is believed the person who is cremated in its premises, washed our all sins and will take birth as human again. There are many festivals throughout the year. Maha Shivaratri is the major festival here and many people from all over world come to attend this festival.

Day 03: Kathmandu (1400m) to Nepalgunj (150m) Flight

It takes 55 minutes by plane from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Mostly the flight for Talcha will be mostly in the morning you will have to stay in a hotel at Nepalgunj. The hotels is 10 to 15 min drive from the air port.

Day 03: Flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha Airport & Trek to Rara Lake (2980m)
It takes 45 minutes to fly from Nepalgunj to Talcha. While flying, you will see romantic views from the plane. After having lunch 3-4 hours trek to Rara Lake. Rara is the biggest lake of Nepal that gives satisfaction with its magnificent look. The lake is surrounded by forest and different kinds of flowers can be seen by the side. People can cycle around the lake. Boarding facilities are also available. There is a hotel by the side but camping is also available.

Day 04: Explore Rara Lake 

We will explore Rara Lake and its surroundings. Since the place is full of natural delights, you will have plenty of activities to do around Rara Lake for a day. However, the best thing you can can do is follow the instructions of our guide who can come up with the best activity for the day.

Day 05: Trek back to Talcha & Flight to Nepalgunj 
Day 06: Flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu 
  • Hike back to Talcha Airport (3 hours).
  • Take an afternoon flight to Nepalgunj.
  • Rest and explore Nepalgunj town.
  • Overnight in Nepalgunj.
